CERTAIN DAYS OF THE YEAR YOU CAN CLIMB THE LIGHTHOUSE

See here for open days

The red and white striped lighthouse was built in 1791, originally one of a pair - the pair formed leading lights marking safe passage around the southern end of the treacherous Happisburgh Sands - but it was not always effective, as the graves in the churchyard show. The lighthouse was recently featured in the ITV series Kingdom

East Ruston Gardens

East Ruston Gardens

East Ruston Gardens is a great place to visit!

Throughout the garden you will see many rare and unusual plants growing. We endeavour to propagate from these in small numbers so that they may be purchased from the plant sales area. Many of these rare varieties are difficult or slow to increase, so if you see a plant growing in the garden that you would like, do ask, we may have some tucked away

 Holkham Beach and House

Holkham Beach and House

Holkham is still privately owned and is the centre of a thriving 25,000 acre agricultural estate which provides resources both to maintain the house, and to ensure that the social fabric of rural life remains intact. However, we have not stood still – we have worked hard to move with the times. In recent years, our enterprises have expanded to include a holiday park, several shops, property development and an internationally acclaimed inn. Like my forebears, we remain closely influenced with agriculture, running our own farming operations.
